Here in Jamaica the weather is an integral part of the allure of this magical place. The awesome power and natural beauty of the mountains, forests and beaches makes Jamaica one of the top vacation destinations worldwide every year. From Spring Break 2008 to Holiday vacations and all inclusive retreats Jamaica has the accommodations and locations for some great vacation travel.

This summer was no exception and Hurricane Dean has surely made things more tense and we wait out another hurricane season hopeful we don’t have another bad one like Ivan in 2004. Hurricane Deanactualy brushed past much of Jamaica and western cities such as Negril and Montego Bay remain relatively untouched. Negril was up and running at full capacity within 48 to 72 hours and has remained so since.

A little hurricane planning saved us lots of hassle on this summer vacation and knowing where to go and what to do for a hurricane was important. We ended up moving to higher ground from our seaside location at Heartbeat Resort here in Negril and spent th evening of the hurricane at Villa La Cage up further in the hills. It was a great time for all of us as we had a mini hurricane party and some fun of it. In the end nothing was to stop our Jamaica vacation and if you plan things properly nothing should stop yours either.
